These are exciting times for the Toronto-based trio Myriad3.
For one thing, the co-op group that consists of pianist Chris Donnelly, bassist Dan Fortin and drummer Ernesto Cervini has a new sophomore record, The Where to spread the word about. Furthermore, Myriad3 this Thursday will get to present its music in Confederation Park minutes before funky supergroup Earth, Wind & Fire whips the masses into a Boogie-Wonderland frenzy.
Below, the band reflects on the record in their back pockets, the opportunities they look forward to, and more.

The Toronto trio Myriad3, consisting of pianist Chris Donnelly, bassist Dan Fortin and drummer Ernesto Cervini, has cultivated one of the most persuasive piano trio sounds in contemporary Canadian jazz. Almost a year and a half after the the late 2012 release of its debut disc Tell, the group this week group is playing gigs the Maritimes and Ontario, including a visit to the Options Jazz Lounge at the Brookstreet Hotel this Saturday.
MYRIAD3 is headed to Europe!
We’ll be playing a few CD release dates in Spain, Germany, and France this September. Check our shows page for details. This is our first trip to Europe as a band, so we’re pretty excited.
A big thanks to the Ontario Arts Council for helping us make a go of it.
